With over a decade of experience writing about the stock market, Karee Venema is the senior investing editor at Kiplinger.com. She joined the publication in April 2021 after 10 years of working as an investing writer and columnist at Schaeffer's Investment Research. In her previous role, Karee focused primarily on options trading, as well as technical, fundamental and sentiment analysis.
At Kiplinger, Karee oversees a wide range of investing coverage, including content focused on equities, fixed income, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), commodities, currencies, macroeconomics and more. She also pens the daily Closing Bell newsletter and is a frequent contributor to the A Step Ahead newsletter. Karee's work has appeared in numerous media outlets, including InvestorPlace, TheStreet.com, Investopedia and USA Today.
Karee graduated from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication. When she's not researching and writing investing stories for Kiplinger, Karee spends her time with her family and friends, as well as her three adorable animals – two loving cats and one chatty terrier. She is also an involved member of the community, volunteering for the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
